About This Resource
Batu Caves is a limestone hill with a series of caves and Hindu temples located just outside Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The main attraction is the steep 272-step staircase leading to Temple Cave (Cathedral Cave), which houses several Hindu shrines. In 2018, the stairs were painted in bright rainbow colors, creating a stunning visual effect and generating significant attention on social media. The climb is challenging but rewards visitors with impressive cave temples and views. Batu Caves is an important religious site for Malaysian Hindus, particularly during the annual Thaipusam festival, and has become one of Malaysia's most photographed landmarks.
